The Crown Retention System is a tight truss rod system, which completely binds the entire piano together - Preventing it from shrinking even a single Millimeter. Full preservation of the "crown" long-term!

The "crown" of the soundboard is under a great deal of pressure and is actually forced into a slight concave shape. This is how the
vibrations can be transmitted so freely.
ALL pianos without the "Crown Retention System" will slowly loose their crown every year; thus their overall tone quality, power, and sustain will diminish.
